Best Travel Gear 2024

Osprey Fairview 40 Women’s Travel Backpack

The Osprey Fairview is by far my favorite travel item, ever. I use it whenever I travel abroad OR if I will be moving amongst different places. It makes navigating cobbled streets, subways, trains, planes, etc so easy. The design of the bag is perfect for a woman’s body and it allows distribution of weight so it is comfortable and not killing your shoulders or back.  I have used it for 3 weeks in Europe and was able fit everything in it. It has plenty of pockets for easy organization including a laptop sleeve. The main pocket has plenty of space for clothes and shoes. There is also a mesh pocket for storing things like undergarments. It easily fits in the overhead compartments on planes like British Airways.  I LOVE THIS BAG: for big trips with a lot of movement, I only use this bag.

Waterfield Packable Backpack

The Waterfield Packable Backpack is one of the best purchases I made (aside from the Osprey). It is stylish, packs incredibly small and doesn’t wrinkle from being folded up. (Which still blows my mind.) when expanded it carries, a surprisingly, large amount of gear. To save space I add a carabiner to the bag then attach it to the outside of my backpack. The costumer service is quick and ready to help. This backpack is perfect for the lite traveling I love!

Samsonite Freeform Carry On

The Samsonite Freeform is an excellent carry on for when I am staying in one spot such as a resort or a cruise. Also I hate checking my bags. and refuse to do it. This Samsonite Freeform Carry On suitcase does just the trick. It is sleek, easy to maneuver, and holds several outfits.

Lily & Drew Carry on Weekender/Shoulder Bag

I love this Lily & Drew Weekender Bag. I mean really love it. It is sleek, affordable and oh so practical. So much space with multiple pockets and two sleeves for water bottles. I love that the trolley sleeve zips closed to have another pocket. Even when stuffed, it fits under the airplane seat. I once used this bag ONLY for a five day trip to Florida. That is how much space it has. I sometimes use this as a weekender bag or as my personal item with my backpack/suitcase/duffel. I cannot recommend this bag enough!

The North Face Base Camp Duffel

I love this this duffel bag for weekend trips and/or road trips.  It is perfect for road trips as it is easy to throw in and out of the car. It doesn’t take up too much space and is easy to stack. My husband uses the large version on nearly all of our trips. I don’t use this duffel for anything abroad OR trips that don’t involve renting a car. It gets uncomfortable and hurts my shoulders while schlepping across cities, trains, subways, etc. I only use the backpack above while abroad. Both the large and medium version of this duffel easily fits in the overhead containers on planes.  Both fit a ton of items but are missing organizational pockets and laptop sleeves.

Travelon Addison-Cross Body Small Bag

Travelon designs bags that are anti-theft and I can’t recommend buying one more. Give yourself the piece of mind that having a bag that comes with a bit more protection; can provide. I love this Travelon Addison. It is cute and utilizes 5 different points of security.

PRO TIP: Doesn’t matter if you like the one I have. Seriously, look into buying an anti-theft bag. Traveling isn’t always fun adventures and some people might take advantage so keep your money and phone safe.

Best Travel Accessories for 2023

Bose Quiet Comfort Earbuds 2

I am not a great flyer and get quite anxious. Noise cancelling headphones have helped with my anxiety around flying. These are a latest upgrade for me and I absolutely adore the Bose Quiet Comfort Earbuds. The sound quality is fantastic. I love the flexibility of the noise cancellation feature. If you are an anxious flyer then get these noise cancelling earbuds.

Airfly Pro

The Airfly Pro is essential for using Bluetooth headphones on planes. You can plug it into the headphone jack at your seat then use your headphones with ease. Bit annoying to have to buy/bring another piece of travel gear but it is well worth it.

Best travel gear and accessories for 2023
The Nimble Champ Portable Charger is one of the best travel accessories for 2024.

Nimble Champ Portable Charger

This Nimble Champ Portable Charger is a great phone charger. It charges up to 80% in 30 minutes. The size is 10000 mAh, works with nearly all devices and is TSA approved. It is super compact so it easily fits in your pocket or purse. It can charge two phones at the same time. Plus it looks sleek and I love the turquoise color.

Collapsible Hair Diffuser

This collapsible hair diffuser is the holy grail hair of curly hair travel products. This is one of the best products I have bought for my curly hair. This is a small diffuser that has fit on every blow dryer I have used while traveling. It barely takes up any space in my bag. It has worked perfectly and I am in full on love with it. Don’t hesitate to buy this!

Cropped T-shirt

Every traveler should have one shirt that works in a variety of situations whether with leggings, shorts or jeans. This cropped shirt is perfect for travel. It is a crop shirt that is casual and flattering. It is perfect for those days when you are bloated from all that food or just need something you can wear with anything. I highly highly recommend this shirt!

In Flight Phone Holder

I love my Phone Holder for flights. It is so much more comfortable then holding my phone for hours. It easily attaches to the tray on the plane or to your luggage handle. You won’t regret buying this.

bago Travel Toiletry Bag

The bago Travel Toiletry Bag is an excellent bag. It is large with side pockets, inner pockets, hook for hanging it up and mesh pockets. It organizes toiletries easily with plenty of storage available. Great option for packing your toiletries.

FYI: I don’t use this bag with my backpack as it takes up too much space. I primarily use this on long road trips. For my backpack I use the oh so stylish zip lock bag.

GOX Carry On Zipper Pouch for Toiletries

Ok, so you are probably getting the hint that I am particular with travel bags and tend to have certain bags for certain situations. So for my backpack, I didn’t have a great toiletry bag that didn’t take up a ton of room. In comes the GOX Carry On Zipper Pouch, it is so slim that it barely takes up any room. It is a much more affordable version of the Matador slim toiletry bags. So far I really like it and it fits my needs.

Bagsmart Electronic Organizer Bag

I love this Bagsmart electronic bag. It fits everything I need with organized slots and pockets. My Kindle fits perfectly as well. It is thin and easily fits in all of my travel bags.

Travel Space Saver Bags

The Travel Space Saver Bags have made packing so easy. I can pack as much as I like then roll them up to get the air out. I don’t need to worry about a vacuum or pump to get rid of the air. I have used them on many many trips. They are also great for storing dirty laundry.  Warning: They don’t lost long. I had mine about two years and they started ripping on me.

Gonex Compression Packing Cubes

I am so impressed by this Gonex compression packing cubes. They hold and compress a great deal of clothes, fits perfectly in my Osprey and are so affordable. They held 2 weeks of clothes for a trip to Portugal with no problem. I highly recommend these packing cubes!

WACAO Minipresso (Portable Espresso Machine)

Yes, I do have a portable espresso maker because my love of coffee runs deep! Also I love good coffee while I travel and sometimes you are just not going to get it. This lovely gadget makes espresso with Nespresso pods which is perfect because I am, also, in love with my Nespresso! I don’t bring this everywhere particularly if I am in a place with good coffee like Italy. I highly recommend this delightful gadget if you are traveling and need a good hit of coffee! I mean just think how great this would be at the end of a long haul!

Kindle

I am a huge reader when I travel. I was so stubborn and traveled with physical books. Until I realized how much weight I was carrying and how much space it was taking up. So I bought this Kindle and will never go back! It is the best travel item I have recently bought. (Yes, I know I am late to the party. haha)

Coach Wristlet

Wristlets are my wallets while I travel. They don’t take up much space and are easy to pull out while traveling. If it is large enough to fit my phone, then perfect!  I received this Coach one as a lovely present.

Please note: I often use my wristlet as a purse while I travel if the location is safe and I feel comfortable. I wouldn’t recommend only a wristlet for every travel destination.

Kate Spade Passport Holder

I got this Kate Spade Passport Holder for a gift and I love it! It fits two passports and my COVID vaccine card easily. I think it was a not so subtle hint to step up my stylish travel game.
